The city of Haarlem is over 750 years old. It is a very lively town close to Amsterdam and the near the popular seaside resort Zandvoort aan Zee. Haarlem is known for its many interesting museums, such as the Frans Hals Museum, Teylers Museum. Famous buildings, such as the Great Church (previously the St. Bavo Cathedral), the city hall and the Vleeshal (Meat Market). Haarlem is an excellent shopping city and the city offers a wide range of specialised stores and exclusive shops, boutiques and department stores. The city has a great variety of pavement cafés where you can relax and watch people stroll by.
